Electric starting system

Attention points

  • Battery
Prevent battery failure by periodic inspection. Check your battery capacity and make use of a trickle charger to keep your battery in a healthy condition.

  • Battery cables
Matching battery cables length and diameter to ensure a powerful starter motor.  In the engineering stage, select the cables and battery that are meeting the MHIET requirements.

  • Starting aid
By using the correct starting aid, such as pre-lubrication, pre-heating, intake air heating you will prevent starting failure.  For more preventive action contact your local dealer.

Air starting system

Attention points

Our medium-speed range uses a direct air starter. For our high-speed emergency application, a pneumatic motor is used. The reliability of these starting methods has been proven to be out of the question and it ensures a quick and smooth start of the engine.

Maintenance required to air starting system is not very demanding as there are few moving parts and these are not prone to suffer wear.

It is desirable that maintenance operations on starting air system are performed by a trained technician as the air operating pressure can reach 30 bar.
